Well I Hadn’t Seen It

  1. Macklemore in Thrift Shop

Thrift Shop: The American Answer to Gangnam Style

“Thrift Shop” is a song (and video) about loading up on high fashion at a Goodwill. It’s beautiful, full-throated, and funny, and it’s already got two million views.

Well, I hadn’t seen it. And you need to see it again.

  2. Hot Cheetos and Takis

    Hot Cheetos & Takis

Oh god everyone else already knew about this and I didn’t. “Hot Cheetos & Takis” is a hip-hop song that’s been climbing up YouTube for three weeks. It’s kids singing about Hot Cheetos, which are a food, and Takis, which are another food. The group is called Y.N.RichKids and the goddamn Washington Post wrote them up.

But about this song! They have “snacks on snacks on snacks”! And an earthquake-bass video effect that I want to use in something! And one mush-mouthed kid at 2:45 who, I am told, has been compared to Mystikal.

I will now go around saying “Oh that? Yeah I liked it when it was called Titties and Carrot Cake.” Because that will make me feel comfortable and “hip” despite the clear evidence that my grip on pop culture is slipping.

  3. Each Other's Butlers - Wade Randolph and Eric Acosta

    Each Other’s Butlers: A Five-Minute Show

What a great fuckin’ concept, right? This is a one-episode show from Channel 101 (a screening series in LA for five-minute videos). Two guys are each other’s butlers.

It’s an unseen classic from 2006, before Channel 101 co-creator Dan Harmon became the famous showrunner of Community.

Well I Hadn’t Seen It: Steamshovel Harry

Channel 4′s Steamshovel Harry Flash game came out in 2009, but many of you haven’t played this hilarious game (with a Reggie-Watts-style soundtrack by Brad Sucks). Once you make it through the intro, it has some great commentary on the state of videogames.

  5. Patrick Stewart deer in Bambi 2

Patrick Stewart’s “Extras” Scene Re-Enacted With “Bambi II” Clips

Yeah, Bambi II, the 2006 direct-to-video Bambi midquel. This guy matched up both the mouth movements and the facial expressions perfectly to Patrick Stewart’s famous “I’ve seen it all” scene from Ricky Gervais’s Extras.

This is very old, and maybe you already saw it, but I didn’t, so there.
